Insulation across Wichita, Clay and Archer counties
Each town page covers the homes and buildings we see most there, the work people ask for, and the questions that come up locally.
One hard climate, six different towns
Wichita Falls has the biggest mix, from postwar brick ranches to newer houses on the edges of town, plus plenty of rentals near Sheppard Air Force Base and Midwestern State University. Burkburnett sits north toward the Red River and draws a lot of military families. Iowa Park grew fast in the 1960s, so many of its houses date from that era. Electra and Burkburnett both have deep oil field roots, and Henrietta and Holliday are surrounded by ranch land, barns and metal shops.
The weather is what they share. Summers here routinely push past 100 degrees, then a winter norther can drop the temperature fast. Add steady wind, blowing dust, hail and spring storms, and a house needs insulation that works in both seasons and air sealing that keeps the outside out.
